The
MODEL T FORD
!! The Car that changed the
world !!

It is a 1923 Model T Ford and a 1951 Ford Convertible. Laurent had the following to say about the picture. "It is a 1923 Model T (Touring) bought new by Len Wood of Tusket Nova Scotia Canada He put a pickup truck box on the back when new and drove it until 1962...today his grand nephew Gordie Wood of Tusket owns the car and has restored it as a touring car again.. .he does not drive it, it is now a museum piece in Gordie's garage. The driver of the 1951 was Eric Taylor of Yarmouth....no longer living... |
| No one knows for sure if Henry
Ford actually said, "You can paint it any color as long as it's BLACK"
but that phrase has survived for almost a century and does indicate something
about the beloved Model T.
No other car has done what it has done and no other car ever will. The Model T was not the first car that Henry Ford produced but he had a dream of producing "a car for the masses" After two unsuccessful attempts to establish a company to manufacture these early Fords, the Ford Motor Company was incorporated in 1903 with Henry Ford as vice-president and chief engineer I have shown some of his earlier
cars which were produced from 1896 to 1907 when at which time he introduced
the world to the "MODEL T".
With the development of the sturdy Model T in 1908, Henry Ford made his company the biggest in the industry. The moving assembly line, which Ford introduced in 1914 enabled Ford to produce far more cars than any other company. Contrary to what we may have
heard or read The early Model T's actually did come in a variety of colors
in the early years but beginning with the 1914 model year and for the next
eleven years after, the Model T would be sold in only one color: black.
The reason for this was that the black paint used dried more quickly than
other paints, which sped up the production line.
I would also like to invite any of my visitors that have a picture of a Model T Ford that they would like to have shown on this page to e mail me a copy. |

| After stock car racing for 12 consecutive
years and building a lot of chassis around the country, including a lot
of custom fabrication in many respects, I have the need to build a late
20's early 30's Ford Sedan or delivery. I'm not sure why, but I am
having a difficult time finding a chronological history of this period,
including the production numbers, variations, and pictures of each.
I am an engineer by trade and also plan to design and build my own chassis,
and a lot of the body; however, I can't find any detail drawings/prints
in order to effectively build or refer to. I know that someone out
there has put this drawings in CAD (computer aided drawing) format over
the years. This is how I will do most of my design to build work.
Do you have any ideas on how I might get some of the above information I am searching for? I really appreciate your help in advanced. If anyone has any information or can help on this matter please contact Joey direct at jsisk@nospamspurlockvehicles.com Please remove the nospam from the address before using it. |

Watch the Model T Being built
Model T's are still turning up where you least expect
them.
This one was found by Carlos Tunches and three of
his grandsons,
Jacob, James, and Josiah Smith.
What a way to show the boys what cars were like 100
years ago.
It was found on his daughter's 20 acres in Missouri.
And YES he is planning on to restore it.

| The following pictures were submitted by Tom Barnard
This is a remanufactured model T....A total of 5 was manfactured for the 100 year anniversery The cars ended up in several differant places but it was known for sure one of them was in the Lobby at World Head Quarters WHQ and has been used at the Henry Ford Museum. Several differant groups participated, the original was set for 100 Re-Mans but got changed as the program went on. Tom was part of a team of prototype fabrication specialists that helped produce some parts and the roof system, gas and ignition levers and so on, the body was made in Switzerland, beacause of the Rotunda fire some years ago not all of the original drawings were available. But we had a good part of them on CD. and He think are still around here somewhere. The engine was scanned by X.Ray and a full scale cad file was created and the engine was re-cast....because of the tighter tolerancing we are able to hold that first one purred like a Kitten. |

| This 1924 Model T truck was originally a ranch truck in Colorado, now the company truck for the Coronado Brewing Company and Tent City Restaurant in Coronado, CA. The little green truck still boasts her original engine, and operates daily on the island of Coronado running errands and promoting business. This truck has been nicknamed "Olive Oyl," because she is tall and skinny, spinach green, and her shrill horn sounds like Olive yelling for Popeye. | |

The Fast Model T Ford
|
(Owned & Operated by Fred G. Hoss) * 55 mph in the ¼ mile on the Drag Strip
Opened it up on the California Freeway and at 65 mph it was still pulling but shut it down because Daddy lost his nerve with NO safety equipment. In approx. 1985 Daddy and I were at the drag strip here in Ark City. We dialed both the cars in...his Model "T" and our 1969 Cheve Chevelle. I caught up with him right at the lights after what seemed a forever wait at the starting line. He won at 55 mph. I lost because I broke out. Momma and Daddy have toured in the '15 as far east as Detroit, MI; as far north as Calgary, Canada; was shipped to Europe for month long tour; and shipped to New Zealand and Australia for a month long tour. Home for Daddy's 1915 Model "T" is Hawthorne, (L.A. area) California.
