The early 20'th Century and especially
the Mid Teen's, 30's and
early 40's produced some of
the most beautiful cars ever built.
The economic depression
of this period cause fierce competition to
give the few that could
still afford one of these cars, the most
beautiful automobile that could
be manufactured.
An example is the Duesenberg
SJ that was built to satisfy
the tastes of the Hollywood
market.
It was a
phenomenal creation weighing two and a half tones and used
a supercharged 7 liter twin
overhear camshaft straight eight engine
that could propel the car at
more then 160 miles per hour
an unheard of speed at that
time.
It like many of the other manfacturesof
that period fell by the wayside
but some are still with us today.
Although some of these cars
continued into the 1940's you will
see that by the end of the depression
most of them lost their
charm and became just another
car.
