Early Car Pictures

This page contains a series of very old car and truck pictures
These pictures have been submitted by Jason Morrow
They were taken in the early part of the 20th century and up until
the early 1920's and show what owning an automobile was all about
in those early years. These just don't show cars and trucks of this
period, they show how the automobile was used in the
daily lives of the owners to make life easier or more entertaining.

If you should be looking to buy an old car such as the ones shown
on this site this is a good place to start

Elwood Haynes in his 1894 Haynes from Kokomo, IN. Elwood went to great pains to assert that his was the first manufactured car in the U.S. He backdated his running prototype date and it eclipsed the Duryea brothers by about 8 months, which ticked them off no end.
Still, his company made a great car until about 1924.\
